Jill Coyle – On the Nature of Things

June 30, 2014 | By | 4 Replies More

I don’t know what
my cat thinks
of that ice cube-

the one she knew
she had caught
until it vanished
into a cold puddle
beneath her warm paw.

When it’s gone,
she searches everywhere for it,

her wet footprints mapping
the liquid moment
in invisible ink
across a white tile floor.
